The current flag of Mexico has three lines. The it is green, white, and red with an emblem. The general general conception of the Mexican flag was it same since 1821, but this flag was adopted in 1968.
The conception to the flag center is the picture of an eagle holding a snake. The eagle sits on a boulder close to a cactus in a lake. The Aztec ones had a legend that their gods had said to construct them a city where they saw an eagle with a snake. The legend says that this is the city that became which is now Mexico.
When it was created at first, the colors represented green for their independence of Spain. The white one of color represented the religion of Catholicism that is eminent to Mexico. The red color was wanted to represent Americas union with Europe. The direction changed progressively and the current official definition of the flag bypasses the problem by not assigning the direction to the colors. Generally the colors are thought now to represent to be green for the hope. The white one of color is considered to represent unity or purity. The red color reminder the people of their religion or their blood of hero. Notice how the religion was changed white one to red and no longer is specific to the Roman Catholic Church.
In top until 1968 Mexico used the flag of three-colored flag without the emblem for a lot of applications. Nevertheless when they welcomed the 1968 Olympic Games of summer, this presented a problem. The flag that they used in a lot of sectors was the same as the Italian flag. With the big number of people visiting for the summer games, this would not have appeared good and could have caused a lot of confusions. To prevent the confusion that the current definition was adopted that demands the emblem with the eagle.
In 1995 the legal description of the Mexican flag was changed again. The preceding description declared that the eagle had the face to the left. First this seems simple, but it does not take in account which will arrive when the flag is looked at back. This could have been a simple oversite in the haste to obtain the flag changed before the Olympic Games or maybe they foresaw at first that the flag correctly to be printed aside and of other. The definition did not allow the rear side of the flag to leave the eagle to do facing to right instead of the left as the this is on the in front of flag. I am not sure how the prevented people to see the flag back for all these years. After the 1995 changes, the flag officially can be looked at of the in front of and the back.
